A full moon is a great opportunity to connect with her energy. She will support you in releasing old energy and this ensures that you become more in balance with yourself. Letting go and manifesting with the full moon is a powerful exercise to bring in the new. Below I have an example of how to easily perform a full moon ritual to release and manifest. You can adjust these steps based on what feels right for you.
Prepare your Safe Space
- Find a quiet, peaceful place where you won’t be disturbed.
- Cleanse your space with sage, palo santo or incense to remove negative energy.
- Decorate a sacred space with candles, crystals or other items that resonate with you.
Set your Intention for the Ritual
- Decide what you want to focus on during the full moon: What do you want to release from your life and what do you want to manifest or attract?
- Write these down separately.
Example:
- Letting go: “I let go of self-confidence and fear.”
- Manifesting: “I welcome self-confidence and success.”
Full Moon Meditation
- Sit comfortably and breathe deeply. Visualize the light of the full moon filling you with calm energy.
- Imagine letting go of the things you want to let go of. Feel them drift away.
- Now focus on what you want to manifest and visualize it as if it is already part of your life.
Ritual for Letting go
- Write on a piece of paper what you want to let go of.
- Once you have written it down, burn the paper safely (in a heatproof bowl) as a symbol of letting go.
- Say out loud as the paper burns: “I let go of what no longer serves me. I am free from… [specific things you want to let go of].”
Manifestation Ritual
- On another piece of paper, write down what you want to manifest.
- Hold the paper and focus your energy on these desires. Imagine what it feels like to already have them.
- Keep this paper in a special place (such as under your pillow or in a journal) until the next full moon.
Charge Crystals or Objects
- When working with crystals, leave them in the moonlight overnight to cleanse and charge them with the moon’s energy.
- You can also leave personal objects or written intentions to incorporate this energy.
Express your Gratitude
- Conclude the ritual by thanking the moon, the universe and yourself.
- Express gratitude for the guidance and for the opportunity to let go and grow.
Grounding
- After the ritual, ground yourself by walking barefoot outside, drinking water or eating something light or a piece of dark chocolate.
