The purpose of a reading is usually to receive general guidance or to paint a broad picture of the current state of affairs and possible future trends. A reading does not always have to resonate with your current situation.
A general reading can make you aware of influences you may not have noticed. You will receive advice or guidance, for example about which attitude or actions you can consider. Because it is not focused on a specific question, the reading often offers broader interpretations that you can further apply yourself.

A general tarot reading is often an invitation to reflect on yourself and to strengthen your intuition, without anything being ‘predicted’ directly. I use various tarot/oracle decks for a general reading.
